by Don Marcial Chavez Embriz, the master original-modelmaker
of William Spratling, the multi-talented and venerable father
of the world-famous modern silver jewelry industry of Taxco.
The classical silversmithing of Taxco has been disappearing in recent decades
asthe Taxco silversmiths have been forced to work cheaper and cheaper:
thus the historical, cultural economic importance of the alliance of the rural
Tecalpulco womens' artisans cooperative and a master original model maker .
